World Tarot Day - More

Tarot readers around the world were asked to pull a card today on World Tarot Day with the question "What is the spirit of Tarot for the next year?

The card I pulled was the 9 of cups....  For an individual, I'd say this was a year full of love and joy and personal fulfillment.  As it pertains to the spirit of Tarot, I'd say this is a year of empathetic support for Tarot as a spiritual resource - more people will come to know Tarot as a reliable form of divination that they can count on.

How to Read Tarot Time

One of the most common questions that will come up in a tarot reading is:  When?

When will a meet that special someone?
When will a get a job that I excel in?
When?  When?  When?

Here is a great site that defines tarot time.

The Mystic Dreamer Tarot Deck

I have been using the Mystic Dreamer Tarot Deck for over a year now.  In January I posted this---

One of my favorite tarot decks to read with is the Mystic Dreamer Tarot Deck.   The artist,  Heidi Darras , did a remarkable job with the images.    These dreamlike images dig into my subconscious and spark my intuition.

I still feel this is true.  Also, the more I use the Mystic Dreamer Tarot Deck the stronger my intuition is being 'sparked'.  Each time I do a reading I am amazed at the clarity the cards bring.  Great job Heidi!

Tarot Reading-Wendy's Card of the Day

The 3 of Swords is not my favourite card in the tarot deck to get.  Even the picture looks ominous.  Remember an earlier post I did on the 3 of Swords.........

The heart is a symbol of affection, love and joy.  It can also represent conscience, truth and courage.
Clouds are a symbol of 'clouded' vision or confusion.  Clearing clouds could also indicate a revelation or epiphany.  That sudden moment when all becomes clear.  Notice the clouds clearing on the 3 of swords.

Taking these symbols into consideration, if the 3 of swords shows up in your reading it could be asking you:

What truths are you hiding from?
In this situation, am I being honest with the people I am close to?
Am I being honest with myself?
Can I learn any lessons from the pain I am feeling right now?
How do I see the problem clearly?
What is the heart of the problem?

The 3 of swords can indicate a time of:
  • loss
  • separation
  • sorrow
  • loss of balance
  • disharmony
  • disruption
  • heartbreak
  • betrayal

So, this is my card for the day.  I'm hoping the clouds will disappear and all will become clear to me again.  :)

Intuitive Tarot Readings

Intuitive Tarot Readings are just that. They are done using your intuition - that gut feeling or first instinct that comes to you when you look at a card.
Intuitive readings leave each card open to interpretation within the context of the question and the other cards in the spread by using the artwork, the cards themselves, the symbols and how it makes you feel. It is a gut reading more so that regurgitation of memorized definitions.
In fact, the first thing I was told when learning Intuitive Tarot was to throw out all the definitions, especially the little book that comes with the cards. If you do a reading where you are just spewing back predefined information, then you are not really doing a reading.
Rosa Castro, tarot instructor, says doing Intuitive Tarot Readings is like looking at a piece of art. That art is going to effect each person in a different way and each person will take away something different from it. Everybody's interpretation of the world is unique.
Remember, the cards are the tool for divination, not the divination. Thus it makes sense that you would use your intuition and not set definitions when doing a reading. If there was only one way to view the cards, then there would only be one version of the tarot deck.

Thank You to:   http://www.bewitchingways.com/tarot/intuitive.htm  for this excellent definition of intuitive tarot readings.  :)

Tarot--Erase Negativity

I really like what Paul Mara from his 78 Journeys blog said recently...

"If we make a conscious decision to erase negativity & judgement from our thought process the emotional burden of never taking personal responsibility and judging all those we interact with can be lifted. This can have a huge impact on moving forward in life."

It's such a simple and lovely thought.   Let's all try to internalize this on a day-to-day basis.

Some interesting Tarot Math Spreads

Here are some interesting and simple Tarot Math Spreads from the Tarot Dame's blog.  Try them out for fun :)

1. A + B = C
Combining Card A and Card B will bring you the results of Card C.

2. A - B = C
When you remove the energy of Card B from the situation of Card A, you will get Card C.

3. A + B - C = D
When you remove the energy of Card C from the combination of Cards A and B, you will get Card D.

4. A - B + C = D
Remove the energy of Card B from Card A, then add Card C and you'll end up with Card D.

The Purpose for Tarot Readings

There are many purposes for tarot readings. What, for you, is its most profound purpose?
Two words come to mind: liberation and wholeness.  The tarot, at its best, is a marvellous lens through which we can see what IS.  When we become aware of what is, we can see our options more clearly.  Knowing that we can choose any of these is liberating.  We’re no longer victims to our thoughts about whatever our experiences, past or present, have been.  An accumulation of these liberation moments can help us to remember that at our core we are whole.  What a profound gift to those who use the tarot consciously!

Tarot Reading

I did a 'quickie' 2 card reading for myself today.  The tarot cards that came up were The Queen of Pentacles and the 6 of Cups-reversed.   Usually, when the Queen of Pentacles shows up in my personal tarot readings she is signifying Gaylle, the other half of The Whispering Path.  To me, the 6 of Cups represents enjoyment of simple pleasures, spending time with children, family and friends.  My 'quickie intuition' is telling me that I will be spending my day discussing The Whispering Path with Gaylle and will not be able to spend time on the simple pleasures of life.  That's ok.  :)  Tomorrow is another day.

Enjoy your day.

Tarot Reading-Looks Like a Lazy Day

My 2 tarot cards for today are the 3 of  Wands-reversed and the 5 of Wands-reversed.
Wands are the element of fire and they represent:
  • creativity
  • spirit/will
  • divine spark
When wands show up in a reading they indicate:
  • enthusiasm
  • inspiration
  • passion
  • action
  • drive
Both of my wand cards are reversed.  Their energies are blocked or I am resisting them somehow.  Maybe I want a lazy day but will I be missing an opportunity by ignoring their sparks?

Tarot Reading-Wendy's 2 Card Reading for Today

Today was a day to get things done.  I had a lot on my mind as a muddled through my 'to do' list.  I felt a bit restricted as I really wanted to work on my tarot however the list dwindled down swiftly and now I am able to do what I want.

That was my Eight of Wands and Eight of Swords day.  :)

Spirituality, the number 8 signifies success, opportunity and strength.  I feel that sums up my day today.  Hope yours was a good one too.

Tarot Reading-Wendy's Tarot Reading for Health

I haven't been feeling well the past few weeks so I decided to do a tarot reading regarding my health to see what energies are surrounding me at this time.  My two cards were:  The Hermit and the 6 of Swords (reversed).    I believe the cards are trying to tell me to take some time for myself.  Some 'alone time' is never a bad thing.  Occasionally,  we all need to take some time away from our busy lives and concentrate on ourselves for a while.  The reversed 6 of Swords is telling me that something in my life is out of balance.  Listening to The Hermit may help me figure out what is out of kilter. Am I eating well (or too well)?  Am I exercising enough?  By correcting this imbalance I may begin to feel better.  :)

Wendy's Tarot Reading for the Day! :)

Gaylle has been on me for a few days about posting a blog.  :)   I have been a bit off lately as I had an allergic reaction to something I ate.  I'm feeling better now and thought it was a good time to check my cards.  I did a two card reading a minute ago to see the energy that is surrounding me at this time.  The 9 of Cups is a lovely card to get and it signifies:
  • getting what you wished for
  • satisfaction
  • pleasure
  • success
  • confidence
and The Tower signifies:
  • sudden change
  • upheaval
  • fall from grace
  • blind sided
  • sudden shift
  • falling down
  • revelation
I had a wonderful Mother's Day and felt that this is the happiest I've have been in a long time.  I did feel I had everything I have ever wished for.  When I start feeling like this I believe I am tempting fate.  I always feel the 'other shoe is going to fall'.  The Tower reversed can be signaling that a big change is going to happen however I may be restricting this change some how.

What energy is surrounding you at this time?

Tarot Reading for a Busy Work Day

We've got a really busy day tomorrow - computers being swapped out for new ones and an office to be put back to rights after painting, so with some trepidation I pulled a daily card to read.  It was the Ace of Cups - how fitting.  Friday will be a new fresh beginning and the start of a new fresh relationship with both clients and how we feel about our workplace.

I'm looking forward to it :)

Tarot Reading and Osama bin Laden

The news of Osama bin Laden's death has dominated newspapers, television and the local coffee houses.  I decided to do a tarot reading on the energies crackling around the world today.  I did a two card reading and was shown Death and The Tower (reversed).  Wow!  Honestly, I was shocked.

I believe the cards are suggesting an ending but also reminding all of us to let go and move on.  Heal.  It is the ending of a hunt that lasted over a decade.  We can now welcome the closure and change today's news will allow us.
