Tarot Reading for the Royal Wedding

I wasn't planning on getting up for this (big time difference here in Canada), but the world's energy is SO high and so focused on this event that I woke up with 15 minutes to spare in advance and an urge to do a tarot reading on the energy for Catherine & William.

The three cards I pulled were the Fool, the three of Cups and the Ace of Pentacles.  How appropriate.  Here are two lovely young people about to set off on a whole new life together with both confidence and joy.  The celebration inherent with the 3 of Cups is obvious and the Ace is both the new start for them but I feel a brand new beginning for the whole Royal 'firm'.

Such an appropriate and positive reading for all concerned.

3 of Swords-Reversed

When the 3 of Swords reversed shows up in a tarot reading you could be blocking
  • pain
  • sorrow
  • loss
  • confusion
When you block or resist these energies you will not be able to deal with the problem, heal and move on.  Some say the 3 of Swords reversed can mean the power of the 3 of Swords is waning and this can be true also.  The question, the surrounding cards and intuition are what determines what it means in your reading.

What energy is surrounding you at this time.  Email Wendy or Gaylle for a tarot reading today.

My Tarot Reading for Today

My intuitive tarot reading regarding these two cards is as follows-  I feel the Knight of Swords is representing speed.  I feel rushed, busy.  My mind and thoughts are flitting from one issue to the next.  The High Priestess is reversed.  I'm blocking or resisting her advice.  Or I'm blocking her.  I don't have time for intuition at this time.  I'm too busy.  I need to use my head and work, work, work!  lol
The Knight of Swords is rushing away from the High Priestess.  Should he have tried to find out what she has veiled from him.  Would that have saved some time in the day?

My reading for today sums up how I felt my day went.   It was a busy day.  I didn't have time to work on my tarot, my runes or crystals.

My Daily Rune

My rune for today is the rune Sowelo, the sun rune.  :)  This card reminds me of the tarot card the Ace of Cups.  It is feminine in nature and symbolizes creation, that flash of inspiration or love.  This rune can strengthen your spiritual and psychic powers and can provide enlightenment and success.  Many people will wear this rune as an amulet for protection.

The Sowelo rune is an indication of:
  • understanding
  • honour
  • obtained goals
  • education
  • joy
  • happiness
  • love
  • positive force
  • victory
  • success
The energy of the Sowelo rune allows you to see a situation clearly.  It conquers the dark.  When the Sowelo rune's energy is in your life it represents a time when the power is available to you to make positive changes in your life and, most specifically, in your love life.

What are Runes?

As posted earlier, these are some of the runes from my amethyst set I got as a gift from my Mom and Dad.

You are probably wondering "what are runes?"

Runes are believed to have originated from a northern Etruscan alphabet from peoples who dwelt in northern Italy and then spread out into south-central Europe.

Runes performed 2 functions.  They imparted information with their inscribed symbols and they were used for divination and magic.

The name rune means 'a secret thing or a mystery'.

Runes can be made of wood, stones, bone, clay or glass.

I have found some great websites for you to check out if you are interested in more information on runes.

Runic divination or "rune casting" is not "fortunetelling" in the sense that one actually sees the future. Instead, runes give one a means of analyzing the path that one is on and a likely outcome. The future is not fixed. It changes with everything one does. If one does not like the prediction, one can always change paths.      http://www.sunnyway.com/runes/

Runes have been used in Britain since the Dark Ages. When the Romans abandoned Britain
around 450AD, waves of immigrants from Europe came and settled in this green and pleasant
land. The Friesians from the Netherlands, the Angles and Saxons from Germany, then the Jutes and Norsemen (Vikings) from Scandinavia.  They brought with them their set of ancient symbols known as the runes. Originally there were 24 runes and they are collectively known as "the Futhark".  People used runes for writing messages, inscriptions and epitaphs; as amulets and charms; as an oracle for use in divination; and for rituals, magic and spells.

My Daily Rune!

I'm having a great time getting acquainted with my amethyst rune set.  My mother and father give me this set at Christmas but I have been too busy too work with them.  After, what I feel was, my disastrous reading this morning I decided to give my Mystic Dreamer tarot deck a well deserved rest and work with my runes.

I love working with Amethyst.  I love the colour and the energy.

My rune for the day is Fehu.  Fehu is an indication of:
  • wealth
  • success
  • strength
  • ownership
  • happiness
Fehu is the 1st of the rune set.  It can represent a new beginning.

I believe my tarot cards were telling me to look 'outside the box', outside my comfort zone.  I took the time to relax and meditate and took out my runes.  Interesting enough, I picked Fehu for my rune of the day.  A new beginning.  :)

Email Wendy or Gaylle today for a rune or tarot reading today!

Wendy's Tarot Reading for the Day! :)

Here is my tarot reading for today to see what energies are surrounding me.

The good energies and the bad energies are restricted or blocked for me today.   Any victories or successes are not going to happen if I don't take my blinders off and look for opportunies.  There are bad energies lurking in my day too but I'm not paying enough attention to what's happening around me to avoid these energies.

Even my loving King of Cups is blocked from me (he's gone to play poker for the day).    :)

Should I take a rest and recharge?

Tarot Card of the Day-Strength

When the Strength card show up in a tarot reading it is making you aware that it's energy is there for you.  The Strength card deals with situations where you are in control.  It represents determination and most importantly-courage.

Strength is card number 8 in the Major Arcana and can indicate a time of:
  • strength
  • courage
  • determination
  • willpower
  • confidence
  • control
  • accomplishment
  • understanding
  • balance
The lion can be seen as a symbol of our 'inner beast'.  He could be like the little devil on our shoulders.  Sometimes we need courage and determination to ignore his urgings.

Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that's true strength.   -unknown

Tarot Reading at the 'Think Spring' Trade Show

What a great day Gaylle and I had at the 'Think Spring' Trade Show on Saturday.

Here we are between readings.  :)

Walking Down the Path of the 2 of Wands

When the 2 of Wands represents the power you hold in your hands.  It indicates:

  • success
  • growth
  • control
  • preparation
  • vision
  • strategy
  • leadership
  • forecasting
  • reflection
The 2 of Wands could be asking you-"You have come this far, you have the power now what are you going to  do with it?"  There will be problems and issues along the way but the 2 of Wands has everything under control and a sense of victory to overcome any obstacles is in the air.

The 2 of Wands is also a sign of an important decision to be made.  It lets you know you are in command, the leader, and only you can make this decision.

Do you have the power of the 2 of Wands in your future?

Walking Down the Path of the 7 of Cups

We all have choices to make in our life and sometimes these choices can be overwhelming.  When the 7 of Cups shows up in your reading it means many choices are or will be available to you.

If there are so many choices how do we decide?  It's confusing when the options available to us are many.  In cases like this it is good to think with your heart and your head.  Use your intuition.  When you dig deep down into your soul what do you feel about each option?  It's good to do your homework.  Get all the facts.

The 7 of Cups opens up a whole new world of possibilities and imagination.  Enjoy!

“If you limit your choices only to what seems possible or reasonable, you disconnect yourself from what you truly want, and all that is left is compromise.”

Card of the Day-The Empress

The Empress from the Legacy of the Divine Tarot deck by Ciro Marchetti.

Stunning imagery!

The Empress stands for:
  • fertility
  • nurturing
  • abundance
  • mother nature
  • creativity
  • conception
  • caring
  • motherhood
When The Empress shows up in your tarot reading it could be asking you to find ways to nurture yourself and others.  She is telling you now is the time for enjoyment and pursuing the pleasures in life.  Time to start a family?

Legacy of the Divine Tarot

As previously posted, I have bought two new tarot decks,  The Gilded Tarot and Legacy of the Divine Tarot. Both decks were designed by Ciro Marchetti.

So far all I can say is....I'm absolutely in love with the Legacy of the Divine Tarot.  I haven't even looked at The Gilded Tarot yet as I wanted to focus on one and then the other.

The artwork on the Legacy of the Divine Tarot cards is gorgeous.  Ciro Marchetti's work is taking me into another world.  A place I feel I have been before (if you read the book that accompanies the deck you will understand what I mean).

The book, Gateway to the Divine Tarot,  comes along with the deck.  This book is marvelous.  The story Ciro tells regarding the 'birth' of these cards is exciting.

I recommend to anyone searching for a new, or their first, tarot deck to check out Ciro Marchetti's Legacy of the Divine Tarot.  :)

Hah!  Gaylle has her own favourite in Parry Sound, and it's Arizona's.  My husband had the hand-battered fish fry on Friday and was seriously impressed.  As well, their hamburgers are made on-site with fresh ground beef and spices.  No frozen pre-formed patties.   Again, very impressive.

10 Myths About Tarot Readings

Myth 1 - "Tarot cards can predict the future"
Predicting the future is not difficult we can all do it. If for example you know someone who is consistently spending more than they earn and paying for it by building up a credit card debt then it's not hard to predict where that one is heading. Or if you know someone who is expecting a baby you may, based on experience, accurately predict that they will have many months of sleep deprivation and tiredness ahead of them. The Tarot does little more than this. It has centuries of human experience distilled into a simple philosophy and meaning for each card. Another way to look at it is to say the Tarot doesn't make precise predictions of the future it merely allows us glimpses at some of the likely possibilities.

Click here for information by Gaylle and Wendy on Tarot Readings.

Myth 2 - "The Tarot come from Ancient Egypt"
The earliest that Tarot can be dated back to is 16th century Italy. There is no evidence of Tarot existing anywhere else in the world prior to this. Some people claim the cards derive from India or China but this is also baseless speculation.

Myth 3 - "Receiving the Death card means someone is about to die"
Unlikely. The whole point of the symbolism of the cards is that they represent deeper life truths. To take any of the cards literally would be to miss out on a layers of meaning and insight. In the case of the Death card, to the medieval mind Death represented an inevitable change and often a passing to a better place. The card represents change and evolution. One can't, however, rule out the possibility of this occasionally actually signifying a death.

Myth 4 - "Reading Tarot is dabbling in the occult"
There are many claims that the Tarot have Pagan, witchcraft or shamanic roots and some have even implicated the Tarot in devil worship and satanic rites. Another frequent claim is that the Tarot derives from ancient religions now forgotten. None of this is true. Tarot , as has already been said, originated in medieval Italy and the predominant cultural backdrop of that time was christian. The symbolism of the cards is either christian or Jewish - new testament or old. The word 'occult' merely means 'hidden' so in that sense one could say taking a reading is dealing with the occult because one is trying to reveal what is hidden.

Myth 5 - "Reading your own cards will bring misfortune"
This is one which professional readers and those experienced with the cards know not to be true but which often gets repeated. It may have arisen from the fact that Tarot card readers will avoid reading their own cards. Not because it is unlucky but simply because it is not effective. A good Tarot reading requires three parties; the questioner, the reader and the deck. The reader tries to remain objective and reports to the questioner what the cards are saying without any bias or desire to hear a particular message. Playing this role for your own reading is difficult if not impossible.

Myth 6 - "You need to have some psychic ability to read the Tarot"
Most people can learn to read the Tarot to a lesser or greater extent. No psychic powers are necessary because all the wisdom is in the cards and the meanings which have been developed over the years. In fact if one was psychic why would you need to use the Tarot? Tarot works best when the reader drops their preconceptions and feelings about a problem and just lets the cards do the talking.

Myth 7 - "Nobody should ever handle your Tarot deck"
There are some practitioners that wont let anyone else touch their Tarot cards. Even when they carry out a reading they wont allow the questioner to shuffle the deck for themselves. In my experience this precious attitude comes from those who want to build up themselves and their deck to be something special. A control thing if you like. This is against the spirit of Tarot which promotes open enquiry and sharing of understanding. Allowing clients to shuffle the cards helps them to feel a part of the process and focus on the problem at hand.

Myth 8 "The Tarot can be used to cast spells or effect other people"
It is sometimes thought that the Tarot can be used to make things happen rather than predict them. To influence someones life from afar, for good or evil. This is a long way from what the cards are actually about, which is simply gaining understanding. There is no reason to believe that the Tarot has any power other than that of insight. One of the frequent messages that comes out of Tarot readings is actually how little ability we sometimes have to influence our own lives let alone someone else's. Put in a nutshell the Tarot would probably say 'get your own act together before you try to change others'.

Myth 9 - "Different decks give different readings"
This is slightly subjective but in my experience, no. Whatever the deck the meanings derived over four centuries remain the same. Different people will however relate more warmly to some decks rather than others and the images that the client is most comfortable with will create the best atmosphere for a reading. A cynical person might suspect this myth is propagated by the deck manufacturers.

Myth 10 - "It is dangerous to have too many Tarot readings"
There is a belief that people who become obsessed with Tarot and keep taking one reading after another bring themselves bad luck or even risk pushing themselves over the edge. This maybe true in as much as seeking constant advice can be a sign of some sort of impending crisis. Such people may also have been close to the edge anyway. The main thing is that too much advice is bad for anyone and only leads to confusion.

Card of the Day-8 of Wands

the Legacy of the Divine Tarot
the Gilded Tarot

The 8 of Wands is all about:
  • news
  • quick action
  • conclusion
  • going with the flow
  • direction
  • speed
  • getting a signal
  • energy
The 8 of Wands can indicate a period of rapid, clear communication.  It can represent a time of discussions that resolve a miscommunication and ends confusion.

I feel that the 8 of Wands can indicate speed within the context of the question.  It is good for the client to know that speed will be an issue regarding their query so they are prepared.  I feel the 8 of Swords is full of energy.

Card of the Day-10 of Swords

What can I say........................ here are some key words that may help understand the 10 of Swords.

  • ending
  • completion
  • ruin
  • loss
  • utter defeat
  • failure
  • overkill
  • martyrdom
  • playing the victim
  • rock bottom
Look closely at your situation.  Are you taking on too much?  Trying to do it all?  Playing the martyr? Are you in a situation where you feel hopeless and think everything is horrible and terribly unfair?

There isn't really too much good that can be said about the 10 of Swords except for the fact that if you look into the distance you see the sun is trying to break through the gloom.  With every ending there is a new beginning.  When you fail at something learn from that mistake and move on.

Card of the Day-The Knight of Swords

Knights are all about action, passion, impulse, enthusiasm and determination.  They are always 'on the go'.   Knights tend to act before they think things through.   They move from one issue to the next going full force. Knights are about movement.

In a reading, Knights can represent real people.  They can represent a male between the ages of 18-40 or a strong woman with a Knights personality.  Having a Knight show up in your reading could also be letting you know that the energy of that particular Knight is surrounding you at this time.

The Knight of Swords can be:
  • strong willed
  • arrogant
  • cunning
  • calculating
  • bull headed
  • strategic
  • valiant
  • cold
  • righteous
  • dynamic
I have found in a few readings that the Knight of Swords represented danger.  I was hesitant to voice this but when I did the client told me this was correct.  I also felt speed was an issue when this Knight was turned.

Is the Knight of Swords in your future?
