Another Stratford Trip!

It's been awhile since I've posted on The Whispering Path Blog.  Both Gaylle and I have been very busy with other projects (tarot and otherwise).  I have enjoyed my hiatus, however I am ready to get back to my tarot routine.  Before I can do that though, I have another trip to Stratford, Ontario booked.  This time I, along with my 'Stratford Trip buddy', will be seeing The Merchant of Venice and The Three Musketeers  both playing at the Festival Theatre.  We have booked ourselves into a beautiful B&B and we are looking forward to drinking wine on the balcony and 'taking in' the beauty of Stratford, ON.

A Question of Destiny

I recently had a question about the path a young woman was taking, and the reading centered around the first two cards up - the Four of Cups and The Priestess.  Here's where I took this.

She's currently in stasis - in a wait mode.  The stability that she had most recently achieved was threatening to halt her progress completely unless she could get herself past her current state of inertia.

So the solution for her was to go within - the Priestess asks that she take her path into the spiritual enlightenment realm as a means to help make her true path clear.   It was clear that the cards didn't want her to simply jerk herself out of her current state into a period of frantic movement.  They were calling for careful consideration, with quite possibly some higher intervention to help her through.

She was clearly relieved with the assessment (which included, obviously more than just the above two cards) because it gave her some direction.

The Man of My Dreams

I was visiting at my friend's place, to celebrate her birthday, and stayed over because her husband was away on business.  I had to laugh because he'd left a list of questions for me.  A free tarot reading as usual.  As I sat down at the computer to answer his questions, I thought about why we have such a good reader/querant relationship, and here it is.

He's very articulate - he knows what he wants to know, so he's specific with his questions.  AND he knows not to ask questions that can be answered with a 'yes' or 'no'.  So, yes, he's the querant of my dreams lol.

Ah, if only all my clients were so well trained (hint, hint, hint)

Whispering Path at Half Mast

And by that, we mean that half of the Whispering Path team is on vacation.  That's right, Wendy is headed off to England to visit her sister, leaving me in charge.  oooOOOOOHAHAHahaha.

Just kidding.   No biggie - Wendy held down the fort in February while I was away so it's my turn :)

We'll still be available for readings individually (Wendy can work via Skype or Gmail's version of Skype), and I'm available of course with both of the above, and in person.

Forgive & Forget - This Means You

It's an old expression, that. Forgive and forget. But how many of us can actually do it?

Here are some thoughts that might help you take that step...
1. Chronic anger is linked to decreased lung function, heart disease, stroke and other ailments
2. The bitterness that comes from long-term anger can contribute to depression
3. Forgiveness will decrease your anxiety, lower your blood pressure - benefits which increase actually, as we get older.

 I guess the big questions is who does it serve? If you're holding anger against someone for a past wrong, then you need to understand that THEY are still controlling YOU. And that's a position you want to remove yourself from.

If your ex cheated on you and moved out with the neighbour next door, would you still allow him or her the remotes to your tv so that you had to watch whatever they decided on the other side of the fence? Absolutely not. So it works the same with emotions. Forgive all the 'thems' out there. Do whatever it takes to allow that.

Maybe you just have to say to yourself "ok, they're stupid so I have to forgive them because they REALLY had a brain-fart" or "ok, I forgive them and they don't know it, but I do. And I'm the bigger person because I DID forgive them". Then move on. Seriously... who wants to continue to rehash old stuff.

That means you don't get to talk about the old hurt anymore, you don't get to even think about it. When it pops into your mind like a pink elephant, remind yourself "It's ok... I forgave her for that already. I wonder what I should wear tomorrow".

 Give yourself a hug every time you do this :)

Aries:     You have way too much on your mind.  Something has to give soon or you'll break.  Save your energy as you will need it this week to stick up for what you believe is right.

Taurus:   You will need to take time for rest and recuperation because of heartache and pain you will encounter this week.  

Gemini:   You are holding back and not allowing positive energy to find you.  Abundance and cerebration can be yours if you allow yourself the freedom.  

Cancer: You had an idea that you thought was brilliant however others did not agree.   Let it go and move on.  Your next bright idea could be the one to show everyone you have what it takes.  

Leo:   In regards to your career you are on top of the world this week.  Everything you touch seems to turn to gold.  Everything you put into your week will multiply and success is in your hands.   

Virgo:  You have two beginnings standing in front of you. This week for the horoscope I am using my Mystic Dreamer Tarot Deck and the Psychic Tarot Oracle Deck.  

Aries:    You have the inner strength this week to tackle anything that comes your way however your physical strength needs some work.  Make sure you are eating right and getting enough sleep.  Your brain is ready to go but your body may bring you down.  

Taurus:   Any issues you may have had last week in regards to seeing ALL the options available to you and making a decision are over.  You have an aura of awareness.  You are focused and you are ready to make your dreams come true.  Go for it!

Gemini:  If you want some peace in your life you may have to sacrifice something to get it.  Peace and harmony will only be yours if you let go, do nothing and ride the wave.  Now is NOT the time to voice your opinion.

Aries:   It you think you have a great idea then act on it.  Triumphant success is the energy in the air for you this week but you must ACT on it and make it happen. 
 

Taurus:  This week you will find that plans you have put into action are moving at a faster pace than you had anticipated.  Calm down, take a deep breath, and enjoy the ride.  You have it all under control and you are ready to face any challenges ahead.

Repeat Business

Today my house smells... I pulled out a forgotten container from back of the fridge and in it... cauliflower that hasn't seen the light of day for a week.  So the whole house reeks and my husband is whining about it.  Geesh.   Fabreeze and candles to the rescue.

Thank goodness I'd waited to do this after my readings this afternoon.  I'd expected one to my door and two came!  And this is really what the blog today is about.  Return/repeat customers.

In any business, including ours, repeat business is where it's at baby.  How to achieve it?  I think there are several reasons why someone comes back to you for another reading - whether live, or online.

1.  They're comfortable with you.  Lesson: Don't be arrogant, condescending or stuck in a know-it-all stance.   Be welcoming, appreciative they've returned, and continue to build a relationship.

2.  What you've told them in the past has come to fruition.  Lesson:  Know your stuff.  Be honest about what you know, detailed in your analysis of the situation.  But above all, know your stuff.

3.  They trust you.  Lesson:  You don't talk to them about other querents, and ergo they know you don't talk about them to others.  Be honest and again... know your stuff.

4.  They like what they hear.  Lesson:  You speak to the issues at hand.  You don't wander around with banalities.  Yes, you hope to be able to give them good news, but we know in this business it isn't always good news.  So be kind.  Always.  And compassionate.
